Bulb Mode

This is the setting on your camera where the shutter stays open for as long as you hold down the button. It's typically used for long exposures at night - e.g. photos of stars or painting with light. Most cameras have timed settings for anything less that 30 seconds, so to get the best out of bulb mode you will need a remote release so that you don't move the camera when you press the button.
