Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black are the four ink colors used in normal printing, known as four-color or process printing.

Tiny dots of ink of different colors are placed by the printing press to make a full spectrum of colors. The full range of colors available by this process is called a gamut. Colors that fall outside this gamut need to be mixed separately and are known as spot colors.
