Painting with Light

This is the process of leaving a camera's shutter open in bulb mode in a dark space, and then selectively illuminating objects in the field of vision with a light source, typically a flash or a flashlight. Some really beautiful effects are possible, and also photographs can be made that would simply be impossible in the normal way without many flash units.
