This is the remote you are looking for for the D200 and D300.
I paid $50, including shipping from China (look on ebay) and was expecting functional but not pretty. It's both.
It has an advertised range of about 300 ft, the receiver fits tidily on your hot-shoe, it can handle burst, bulb from either the remote or the receiver, has 16 channels and also has a 2 second delay option. The buttons have a positive feel to them, including the half-press for focus. The only thing it doesn't have is a program mode to set timed shots, but the D300 has this built in.
